Notre Dame Rock Climbing
By Olivia Mildenberger
My name is Olivia Mildenberger, and I am a member of the Notre Dame Rock Climbing Team. Joining this team is an amazing way to meet new people, have a fun way of exercising, and still have time for your schoolwork. Thanks to our amazing Captain, Isabella Wade, we were able to put this together. Rock climbing is a very laid-back sport. It is not a huge time commitment, but it is something that we want members to put their effort and heart into. Like many of our current members, you might have never climbed up a wall before. For this team, no experience is required. The only thing you need to be able to do is have fun. We will always be accepting new members, so it is not too late to join!
I would like to share with you what you should expect if you decide to join this wonderful team! For new climbers: a membership is required to use the Highpoint Climbing Gyms. You will need to have a parent/ guardian with you to get a membership. Equipment is something you should only invest in if you plan to continue with the sport. If you are trying it out, then I would recommend renting gear from Highpoint. It is about three dollars a day, which is a pretty good deal considering you get shoes and a harness. After getting your membership the next step is taking a class on belaying and climbing safety. A Highpoint staff member will train you during the class and then you will take a test to get belay certified. This is an essential step to rock climbing, so that you are not limited to doing auto-belay walls. Once this is done, you are ready to go! If you have any further questions, please message the Notre Dame Rock Climbing Instagram Page, @ndrockingclimbing or contact our Captain, Isabella Wade. I would like to thank you for taking the time to read this, and I hope you consider joining!

Football Wins Against Green Hill
By Nina Combs
After taking a few hits this year, Notre Dame Football won against Green Hill on October 30th! The final score for the game was 38 to 0. According to sophomore team member Brayden Diaz “It was a great game to end the season on, especially for the seniors. I’m sad to see them go, but excited for the upcoming years.” With that spirit, so are we! Congratulations boys, and go Irish!
