Meet the Irish Free Press
By Emma Pace
The newspaper at Notre Dame has looked very different over the years and gone by many different names. Today, we are proud to introduce the Irish Free Press. The formation of this newspaper began in January, back when the world felt a little more normal than it does today. I had heard stories about the old newspaper from my dad and knew it was something that I wanted to do. Before it could become more than a simple idea, everything was shut down. Throughout the time spent at home, it was always in the back of my mind. When we came back, I knew it was time to get started. I approached Mr. McCutcheon, typed up a proposition, and then invited others to join. I had no idea if anyone would even show up, or if the newspaper would end before it could even get started. Thankfully, almost 30 people attended the first meeting, and since then everyone has worked so hard to get this newspaper to where it is today. We are so excited for you all to see what we have created. Thank you for reading, and we hope you all enjoy the Irish Free Press!
You all have set the bar high. I can’t wait to see more from The Irish Times Free Press!
